The Handbell Musicians of America and Area 6 will strictly enforce the U.S. Copyright laws at this festival. Photocopied music is illegal. This includes music played in mass concert, solo concert and individual solo performances. It is also illegal to arrange music not in public domain unless written permission from the copyright holder is obtained. You must bring this permission to the festival. Infringement of these laws deprives writers and publishers of their livelihood. HMA and Area 6 will expect every participant to cooperate. Your cooperation will protect HMA and Area 6, as well as individuals and their respective organizations, from legal action.
Participants possessing music duplicated by copy machine or other device, must have in their possession a letter from the copyright holder giving permission for the copies to be made and used. Participants found in violation of this policy will be required to purchase the necessary music immediately and on site. Otherwise, they may face expulsion from this festival with no refund of fees paid.
Because of the copyright laws, no video or audio recording devices will be permitted at rehearsals or concerts.
