Area 6 Festival 2019
The Raleigh Ringers are coming! You won’t want to miss this event. Included in your registration is a banquet and concert by the Raleigh Ringers, and our classes will be taught by members of the group. The event will take place in Metarie, just minutes away from the French Quarter and all the fun that NOLA has to offer. Please see our 2019 Festival tab on our web page as details are posted as soon as they are confirmed!
Chime Loan Program
Area 6 owns five sets of handchimes, one per state. These are available for lending for one academic year, along with a gift certificate for purchasing educational materials. These are available for public school classes, or private or church-affiliated educational settings. If you know of a school music teacher who would like to apply to receive one of these wonderful sets, please point them toward our “Resources” tab on our web page for application forms and details.

National Seminar offers unmatched access to classes, concerts, exhibits, and networking in the handbell community. Visit HMA’s YouTube channel now, subscribe, and hit the notification bell so that you will be notified when we are live or when new videos are added.
Message from the Chair
I hope you are all having a fun, safe summer!!
I have exciting news about our 2019 Area 6 Handbell Festival. If you have not already heard, it will be held in New Orleans!! We titled it Bells in the Big Easy.” The exact location for the hotel, ringing tracks and classes is in Metairie. More on that later.
The dates are Thursday – Saturday, June 13-15, 2019. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend!!
Our featured concert will be presented by the Raleigh Ringers led by the one and only David Harris. They will also lead our class sessions! The Raleigh Ringers are an internationally acclaimed concert handbell choir from Raleigh, North Carolina. Their performances are always awesome!!
The cost, hotel information, repertoire, schedule, logo etc will be posted on our web site in the days to come. Please check this site regularly!
One thing that I would like to emphasize is that you do not have to bring your entire choir. Any number of your group is welcome to join us. We can position you with another choir or you can stand right next to your peeps!!! Advise me of this with your registration and we can work out something.
Even though your Area 6 board will not be teaching at this festival, we are still very busy organizing and planning so that this festival will be fantastic! It will be something you will remember for a long time.
